Blue Fire, Chapter 4

My parents walked out for some reason, maybe when it suddenly got, like, super windy cuz' of the dragon flapping it's huge wings all over the place and stuff. And it, it being the dragon, was pretty darn loud, roaring occasionally. When we landed, my dad ran for the dragon, broom held high above his head. "Aaaargh!!" He yelled, whacking the dragon on the side a few times. Which, of course, the dragon didn't even notice. I sighed heavily, causing my old man to turn and look at me, mid-swing. My mother stopped cheering dad on and also looked at me. "M-... Makoto...?" My dad said, quietly, hesitantly. I rolled my eyes and nodded slowly. 'Who else, idiot?!' I thought angrily. I crossed my arms and continued looking away. 'Stupid dragon! Why'd you bring us here, of all places?!?!' I thought, kicking the beast. It grunted, and suddenly it, um, well, started glowing. I know, it sounds dumb, you know, a big, fat dragon savin' some kids from people who eat other people's souls suddenly, like glowing in the middle of some phsyco parents' absolutely perfect yard, right? Well, it happened, right then and there. Toyu and Hina started at the dragon, eyes wide as plates. Kai and Reiji weren't quite as distracted by it, they were more busy torturing my parents with question after question. The dragon, still glowing, started to shrink until-- Le gasp! It was the dude from the trading site-- The soulburner with the star tattoo. What a shocking discovery, eh? So anyway, there he was, no longer glowing. So anyway, he blinked a little bit at first, then suddenly gave me this stupid grin. The others, including my parents, were in a small crowd behind me. "... Whaaaat?" Toyu said, confused. "Oh, em, gee!" Hina said in that little girly-girl way of hers. Chi blinked a bit. Kai stayed calm, though I could totally tell even he was secretly amazed. Reiji was all wide-eyed and stuff, and I could tell he would just explode if I didn't let him run up to the dragon-kid and ask him a million annoying question, demanding knowledge of every little detail. Which is why I wouldn't. So evil, aren't I? Bwahahah! So, anyway, I took a few steps over to dragon-kid. "My name's Atroni!!!" He exclaimed, shocking me into jumping back. "Um, Mr. Atroni...? Why aren't you trying to, like, eat us or something?" Toyu asked, in a sweet, innocent voice that made me want to hug him so hard I cracked his ribs. But, of course I didn't. The soulburner spoke again, making us all shuffle back a few steps. "'Cause I'm not a bad guy!"

Blue Fire, Chapter 3

I woke up, maybe a couple hours later, even though I didn't remember falling asleep. I could tell because, number 1, I have a watch, silly, and number 2, it was the middle of the night when we'd left and the sun was just starting to rise now. I stood up, wobbly, and looked behind me. I saw Hina and Toyu still sleeping, and then I almost jumped for joy. Chi was trying to pull herself up with one of the dragon's side-horns, Kai holding her ankle and Reiji holding his. I rushed over ad helped them up as fast as I could.
"I'm so glad you guys are okay!" I said, hugging Chi. She went all stiff, but she still hugged me back. Barely. I hugged Kai and Reiji at the same time, and Kai did nothing, but Reiji hugged back. I shuffled over to Hina and Toyu and shook them, trying to wake them up.
"Wha happind...?" Toyu asked sleepily. Hina pushed herself up with her arms, still laying halfway on her stomach, and looked around. She squealed when she saw that everyone was back and Toyu was fully awake by her squeal. They both smiled and launched themselves at the person closest; Toyu was attached to Kai, his role model, and Hina was squealing while she hugged Chi. I smiledd and stood with my arm crossed. It was kind of cold that night. I looked around and realized where we were going. We were heading for my parents' house. My old home. Mucho emphasis on the old. I hate that place- Nothing ever happens there, and my parents are cruel people. My siblings are the most annoying kids in the frickin' world. Oh, and, I kinda just ran away when Kai and Reiji came to me. Without telling them. I wondered how mad they'd be, then shuddered at the thought. Then a certain thought hit me- How the heck did the dragon know about that place?

Blue Fire, Chapter 2

“Oh, no, oh, no, oh, no!!” I said, panicking, as I tried to scoop up the letters. They had fallen out of my backpack somehow. “Makoto, hurr—“ Kai was interrupted by a loud BOOM outside. “Oh,” said Chi, “my,” said Hina-chan, “God,” finished Reiji. They were there. The soulburners. We had made a deal with them that we would give the letters if they wouldn't try t kill us any more. Of course, we weren't actually going through with it. We were planning to send me alone and Kai, Reiji, and Chi would jump out and capture them. Even though I'm the leader, Kai and Chi normally thought of the plans. I froze where I was, terrified. I picked up the other letters and backed into a corner. We were in a small house made of only one room. Everyone was hiding behind the couch, to make it look like I was the only one there. Hina and Toyu were there for backup. All of our eyes widened in terror when the door slammed open, and in walked Lamora and Frederick, noses up in the air confidently. Apparently they hadn't brought their pets , luckily. They both walked to the middle of the room. "... We know you're not the only one in here," Lamora said coldly. I looked from Kai to her and back again and stuffed the letters into my backpack. "... Hina, Toyu, Koto, run! We've got 'em!" Chi yelled, pulling her huge sword from its sheath and jumping over the couch, assuming her battle position. Kai and Reiji followed, with their shorter swords. Hina and Toyu high-tailed it out of there, out of the door we were closest to. I was frozen in horror, though. I know, what a great leader, right? Anyway, the battle started, and I was still unable to move. That was when I noticed another person in the room, right next to me. I turned my head slowly, and saw that it was a boy, who seemed to be sleeping, or maybe worse. I slowly moved his head up so I could see his face, and shuffled backwards in horror. He had a star tattoo on his face-- The one all soulburners had. Except, for the other soulburners, the tattoos represented their element. A small flame for Lamora, and a chunk of ice for Frederick. But what could a star possibly represent? I don't know why, I just felt like I had to. I moved forward again and softly touched his tattoo, then almost screamed, because his eyes opened. Then I got calm once more, because they closed again. I moved behind the couch and watched the fight.
"Makoto, what are you doing?! Leave no--" Kai was interrupted by Lamora's fire whip striking him across the face. "Kai!!" I screamed. Then, I froze for the, like, thousandth time that day when a huge blast of blue fire flew at Lamora and Frederick from behind me, knocking them over and giving my friends the advantage. I turned around and saw the soulburner from before standing, angry, smoke puffing out of his mouth. He ran outside, and I followed, finally realizing that I had to leave. When I got outside, I saw something horrible. I saw a huge blue dragon right in front of me, and Hina and Toyu cowering in the corner. When the huge dragon nodded, somehow understood that he wanted me to get in it's back. So I did. I climbed on with the small horns on it's sides. Once I had found a comfortable spot, it took off. "Wait!! No!! Hina!! Toyu!!!" I yelled, pulling on one of the horns to make the dragon stop. I screamed again when the small building burst into flames, before I saw any small dots running out of it.
"Koto!!!" Hina and Toyu screamed in unison. "... Uh, uh, uh, jump!!" I couldn't think of anything else at the moment, and we could all jump really high. Hina grabbed Toyu's hand just in case the youngster couldn't make it, and jumped. She barely managed to grab one of the horns, and I grabbed her wrist, like, two seconds before she fell. I pulled them both up and almost cried of relief, and worry, for my other friends. I didn't care where the dragon was taking us. I didn't care if the dragon was kidnapping us for the soulburners. I didn't care any more. I just wanted us all to be together again.
