We've heard rumors about a Soulburner named Atroni. That's "uh-trawny." Apparently Atroni has these unknown powers, you know? Some people say he can shrink, and some say he can turn into a dragon. And we've heard one person say he is the Soulburners' strongest weapon. None of us can even guess what's true and what's not, but I know that this Atroni person must be really strong. We know that the other Soulburners are named Desiree and Miles. We've gathered a tiny bit of information, like the fact that Miles is their leader, Desiree second in command. Atroni can be turned off, like a robot. Desiree is pronounced "dez-er-ay," by the way. Get it? I made a rhyme. Anyway, that's what's been going on for my whole life. Be patient, be patient. I'll explain everything that happened and who Atroni is and what Desiree, Miles, and Atroni attack with. I'll answer all the questions you have, soon. All of the Soul burners are 15, the same age as most of us Fireslayers.

Blue Fire

Have you ever met a dragon? Well, probably not. Dragons are very rare sights. You probably also don’t know what a Soulburner is. Or what a Fireslayer is. Or who I am, for that matter. My name is Makoto Yuuki. Makoto means "truth," and yuuki means "courage." So I have the courage to tell the truth. That’s why my parents named me that. Anyway, I’ve been part of a group called the Fireslayers since I was around 7 years old. Right now I’m 15. The Fireslayers protect people and the 9 Cursed Letters from the group called the Soulburners. The Soulburners are creatures that look completely human, nothing strange about their appearance, but they have slight hisses to their voices and slits for pupils. Soulburners, well, eat souls. I guess "burners" isn’t quite the right word for these monsters, but "souleaters" just doesn’t sound right. It’s not a bloody mess or anything when Soulburners eat souls. They’re nothing like vampires. The Soulburners only have to touch a fingertip to a human’s forehead and in a flash of white light, the Soulburners become more powerful and the human is dead. The 9 Cursed Letters are just what they sound like- 9 letters with a curse. No, not letters as in, "A," "B," "C," letters as in "dear so-and-so." Anyway, the letters apparently have these spells written on them that could possibly bring our world to an end. And, as you have probably guessed, the Soulburners want them. So, we have to protect them. There’s 6 Fireslayers, and only 5 Soulburners. Us Fireslayers have only met two Soulburners so far, but we know there are 5.
In the Fireslayer group, there’s me, Reiji Kurasoya, Hinata Mitsukai, Chihiro Ajisoto, Kai Kurasoya, and Toyu Bayure. You’ve heard all about me.
Reiji-kun and Kai-kun are brothers, Kai the older of the two. Reiji is 13, and Kai is 15. Reiji-kun is very childish and teasing, but he’s still very clever and kind. Kai-kun is very mysterious, but he’s very friendly, too. Kai doesn’t talk much, but everything he says is nice, unless he’s talking to a Soulburner.
Hina-chan is my best friend. She is very playful, very friendly, and a great listener. The perfect best friend! Hina-chan is only 14, though.
Chi-kun has had a very difficult life up until she met us, I hear. She has a huge scar that starts on her shoulder and ends under her arm on her other side. She’s still very friendly, and she says if there’s anyone in the world she can trust, it’s all of us. Chi-kun is 15.
Toyu-chan is the youngest of us all, a 7-year-old. He’s a very smart child, and very friendly too.
I’m the oldest of us all, and I’m the leader, I guess. We all have special powers. That’s how we all came together, you know. But none of us have discovered our powers yet.
Now to the subject of Soulburners. Us Fireslayers know of a boy and a girl, Frederick and Lamora. Frederick has the power of ice on his side, and Lamora fire. Frederick has a pet snake, which as you can guess, is light blue. Lamora is the more reckless of the two, and her pet is an always-flaming mountain lion.

Um, hello, everyone who's reading this. This is a story I'm writing. It's not done yet, of course, but I'm posting it here for everyone to see. Makoto Yuuki, the main character, is based on me, Summer, and Hinata Mitsukai, her best friend, is based on one of my best friends, Angelica.
