Blue Fire, Chapter 7

"That was so fun!" Hina squealed after dinner. "Yep." Reiji nodded enthusiastically. "I hope we didn't break anything too valuable," Chi muttered. Then everyone broke out laughing. As we walked to the guest room, where we all had to sleep, (by the by, it was my old room,) I knocked over anything valuable that sat on a table or something. Then I noticed that Atroni was a couple feet behind us, not saying anything. As the others walked, I stayed behind until Atroni was next to me.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked, knocking over a valuable-looking vase. "Nothing..." He replied, stil staring at the ground. "Well, it seems like something's wrong to me." Silence. "I don't like it here." He said quietly. "Then why'd you bring me here?" I tilted my head slightly. "I dunno. Maybe 'cause... I thought we'd be safe here... But I've got a bad feeling about your parents... No offense," He added hastily. "None taken," I said, laughing. "But what do you mean, a bad feeling?"
"I mean... Your dad has a gun." With that, he speedwalked down the rest of the hallway to the guest room. I stood, frozen, in the middle of the hallway, listening to the laughter coming from the guest room, and then, the hushed voices coming from my parents' room. I slowly walked to their door, then pressed my ear against it ever so gently.
"But she's our daughter!" I heard my mother shrill. "Yes, but you know how she is. Wouldn't it just be easier to kill them all?" Silence. I figured my wanna-be-saintly mother would protest, so what I heard made my eyes widen in shock and horror.
"But what if the police find out somehow?" That was all I could take. I dashed to the guest room.
"Hurry! Everyone pack up, we're leaving right this minute."
